Summer Program on Quantum Technology

To offer unique opportunities for Secondary 4 to 5 students and Year 11 to 12 international school students to explore the fascinating world of quantum computing, the School of Science of HKUST gladly presents the on-campus summer program – Journey into the Quantum World: From Mechanics to Computation. The program is organized by the Department of Physics and will be held in July 2023.

The three-week summer program covers a range of topics, from the basic principles of quantum computing to advanced applications in cryptography and quantum communication. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on activities and computational tutorials, students will learn about the essential concepts of quantum computing, including qubits, superposition and measurement.

In addition to the lectures, students will have the opportunity to work with real quantum computers, allowing them to gain practical experience in designing and manipulating quantum circuits.  Secondary 4 to 5 students and Year 11 to 12 international school students are welcome to join.
