Seminar on Pure Mathematics - An Improvement on Hasse-Weil Bound and Applications
The Hasse-Weil bound is a deep result in mathematics and has found wide applications in mathematics, theoretical computer science, information theory etc. In general, the bound is tight and cannot be improved. However, for some special families of curves the bound could be improved substantially.

Seminar on Pure Mathematics - Kahler Ricci flow around complete bounded curvature metrics
A classical result by Shi states that a complete Kahler metric with bounded curvature can be deformed by the Ricci flow with improved geometry. This result served as a basic ingredient for more advanced existence of the Kahler Ricci flow.
