Scholarship Scheme for International / Asian Olympiad Medalists

To honor the outstanding achievements of medalists in International / Asian Olympiad competitions, the School of Science is offering scholarships to medalists who are admitted to the School. Details are as follows:

For 2025 intake:

International Olympiad Gold Medalists

  • International Mathematical Olympiad

  • International Physics Olympiad

  • International Chemistry Olympiad

  • International Biology Olympiad

  • International Olympiad in Informatics

Full Tuition + Living Allowance of HK$60,000 p.a. (renewable for normative duration of study)

Asian Olympiad Gold Medalists

  • Asian Pacific Mathematics Olympiad

  • Asian Physics Olympiad

  • Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad

Full Tuition + Living Allowance of HK$30,000 p.a. (renewable for normative duration of study)

International Olympiad Silver Medalists

  • International Mathematical Olympiad

  • International Physics Olympiad

  • International Chemistry Olympiad

  • International Biology Olympiad

  • International Olympiad in Informatics

Full Tuition p.a. (renewable for normative duration of study)

Remarks:

  • Granting of scholarship is subject to the final decision of School of Science.

  • The maximum scholarship limit for each student is full tuition plus living allowance of HK$60,000 per annum.

Is there any scholarship available for students?

HKUST offers a number of scholarships to support students realizing their dreams. For newly admitted students, we award admissions scholarships to outstanding students on a competitive merit basis. These awards may be one-off or renewable, full or partial tuition waivers. Applicants will be notified of the scholarship decision together with the admissions offer.

After begin studying at HKUST, students will have many other scholarship opportunities. These scholarships are to recognize their academic and non-academic achievement, which will require application and/or nomination. Around 19% of students received more than one scholarship.
