For applicants who have taken the Joint Entrance Examination for Universities in People’s Republic of China (JEE / Gaokao), they have to submit application for admissions to HKUST as JEE applicants. For mainland students taking other exams (such as GSAT, GCEAL, IB, etc.), they should apply for admissions as non-local applicants (international and other qualifications).

HKUST does not join National University Entrance Examination (NUEE) scheme of Mainland China. If you are Mainland Gaokao (JEE) candidate (including the repeater), please submit your application directly to HKUST Online Application System. In general speaking, the application deadline is around June.

Students applying on basis of JEE qualification should select only one choice in application. Depending on your choice of program, you may additionally select an alternative choice.
